SwiftUI and Swift Migration
By Alex Vasiliu, iOS Solution Architect
I migrate iOS apps incrementally from Objective-C to Swift and from UIKit to SwiftUI, so the app keeps shipping while the codebase modernizes.
A full rewrite is rarely necessary and often risky. On apps such as John Lewis, Techniker Krankenkasse and EnBW Mobility+, the existing product stayed in UIKit while new flows were built in SwiftUI. That approach lets a team adopt modern tools one flow at a time, with feature flags controlling the rollout.
What this includes
- Objective-C to Swift migration
- UIKit to SwiftUI adoption, one flow at a time
- Feature flags for phased rollouts
- Modern Concurrency adoption
- No full rewrites and no disrupted release cycles
